Sophomore Jim Vitale was named as the official New York State East representative to the HOBY 2008 World Leadership Congress which is held in Washington, DC. Jim was selected for this honor by his outstanding work during HOBY’s May seminar held at the College of St. Rose for high school representatives from throughout the eastern NY region. Only 1 boy and 1 girl participating in the workshop received this honor.

HOBY is a world-wide organization, founded by actor Hugh O’Brien in 1958, with the sole purpose of promoting leadership among today’s youth. It is Mr. O’Brien’s belief that leadership skills in the young need to be nurtured in order to make a difference in their own lives, and in turn, they will make a difference in their communities and the world.
