On Friday, November 3, the 8th grade participated in a service day at the Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne. Double H Ranch provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Students were welcomed to HH and taught about the history of HH by Board Member, Dr. Dennis McKenna ’84 and CEO, Mr. Max Yurenda. They then, broke up into groups to help clean up the grounds. The class worked for hours in the rain raking, clearing, bagging and hauling sticks and leaves into a truck to be taken away. When asked about the service day, eighth-grader Michael Puccioni ’21 commented,“I feel like we went to HH Ranch to serve, but I walked away with so much more. What we did saved volunteers and employees time and energy. They can now spend more time working with kids and less time cleaning up the property. I thought that the service we did at HH Ranch was fulfilling, fun, and enriching.”
