The annual Adopt-A-Family program begins Wednesday, December 1st and runs through Wednesday, December 15th. We will be working together with a local school in the Albany area and will provide 12 families with items that they are in need of this holiday season. All items will be delivered on Friday 12/17, and we are asking that all gifts be placed in a gift bag with tissue paper and that the gift is labeled with the child's name only. Many families have chosen to purchase more than one item for a particular child. Please wrap each gift individually, as we want each family member to open the same amount of gifts on Christmas morning.  High School students will place gifts on a labeled table outside of the library.   Middle School and Lower School students will bring their gifts to Mrs. Leak in Room 251.  Please feel free to bring in your items as soon as possible so that we may have appropriate time to separate and organize the gifts prior to delivering them.   At this time, all of the Sign Up Genius slots have been accounted for (thank you so very much!)  If you still wish to donate, please send in a gift card to one of the following locations: Hannaford Price Chopper/Market 32 Shop Rite Walmart Please have your son drop this off to Mrs. Leak in Room 251. Beginning this Wednesday February 2 through Friday February 11, CBA will begin its "Souper Bowl Drive" and will accept canned goods for local food pantries. Students will make their Super Bowl predictions by dropping off their food donations in two boxes, one labeled Cincinnati Bengals and one labeled LA Rams. Before the big game, CBA will announce the "winners" of the 2022 Super Bowl!

During his visit in December, Father Le Fort, Vicar General of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, granted CBA a holiday for our students’ efforts in the many charitable efforts during the first semester.  The students have chosen Monday, February 14 to celebrate the Vicar General’s Holidayand school will be closed.

t's that time of year again! Our 4th Annual Fat Tuesday Chili Throwdown is approaching. This year's competition will take place on Tuesday, March 1st at 5:30 in the CBA cafeteria. We are looking for competitors to enter their award winning chili recipes. This event has been loaded with rivalries and controversy from the get-go. Will Bio Smith make a triumphant comeback after being de-throwned last year!? Or continue to claim it was fixed? Or is this the year Ms. Hewitt finally surpasses her previous bronze and silver finishes to take the gold!? Can Mr. Stanton translate his Mac-and-Cheese superiority over to the Chili pot for an undefeated cooking season?? Does a new name come in and stun us all!? The excitement is overwhelming! Do you want a shot at taking down chili competition royalty? ENTER THIS YEAR AND JOIN THE FUN! If you're interested, email muir@cbaalbany.org with the type of chili you'd like to make. Instructions for competitors will follow in the coming weeks. If tasting chili is more your style, join us that night for unlimited tastings at $6/person including drinks and snacks. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at  Gofan and will also be sold at the door.
