Each year, CASDA recognizes the outstanding scholastic achievements of graduating seniors from high schools around the Capital Region. Sean Calagna ’19 was recognized this year for his involvement in music, athletics, and the JROTC program. Sean, graduating as the Class of 2019 valedictorian, selected Mr. Matt Agan ’05 as a teacher who has had a significant influence on his education. They attended the Awards Dinner on May 16.

According to the CASDA awards website, “Sean Calagna is a model student attending Christian Brothers Academy. Involved in music, interscholastic athletics and an officer in the school’s JROTC program, Sean is an exceptional young man who has embodied all of the best CBA has to offer. Number one in class with a perfect score on his Math Boards, Sean will major in physics in college while continuing his involvement with music.”

Sean says, “Mr. Agan has helped me grow as a student and person since 6th grade. His passion for academics and compassion have motivated me to succeed.”
