On March 21, we held a special signing ceremony in the Ned McGraw Gymnasium for nine athletes who will be playing sports at the collegiate level.

 

Michael Murray ’19 is a dual sport athlete at CBA who is looking to continue his career in baseball. On the baseball field, he is a corner infielder who is expected to have a significant impact on the team this season. Aside from baseball, Mike was also a key contributor to the CBA Basketball team that has won over 30 games in the past two years. In the fall, Mike will be going to Hamilton College where he will be a member of the Continentals Baseball Team.

 

Peter O’Toole ’19 is a two-year varsity baseball starter for CBA. As a junior, Peter playing in all 21 games in the middle infield. He batted .338 in the middle of the line-up for the Brothers and was among the team leaders in most offensive statistics. Peter was third in hits with 23 for CBA last season. This year, Peter will be called upon to again anchor the middle infield as shortstop and as the team’s closer. Peter will continue his baseball career with Coach Whalen at Dartmouth College.

 

 

Four players from the Brothers’ Sectional Championship soccer team this past season are all going to Division 1 programs.

 

 

Quinn Becker ’19 is a central defender on the CBA soccer team and has been a member of the varsity team since he was called up for Sectionals during his freshman year. He started all but three games over the past two seasons and was named Team Captain his senior year. Quinn was also named to the Times Union Large School First Team this past year. He will continue playing soccer at Syracuse University.

 

Elijah Donofrio ’19 played defense and midfield on the varsity soccer team during his junior and senior years. Eli had four goals and four assists during his senior season and was named to the Times Union Large School Second Team. Eli will continue his soccer career at the University of Albany.

 

Brady Van Epps ’19 is a forward on the soccer team and has been a member of the varsity team since he was called up for Sectionals during his freshman year. As a junior, Brady scored a league-high 29 goals and was named All-State and All-Region. Despite struggling with injury at the end of his senior season, he ended the year as the team’s leading scorer with 17 goals (team high) and 12 assists, earning a total of 53 goals in his career as a varsity player. During his senior year, Brady was named Team Captain and made the Times Union Large School Second Team. He will continue playing soccer at Brown University.

 

Keegan Vedder ’19 played midfield on the varsity team for three seasons. During his senior year, he had 13 goals (2nd most on team) and 14 assists (team high). Keegan was named the Times Union Large School Player of the Year, Section 2 Class AA Co-player of the Year, and made the All-State Second Team and All-Region Midfielder. Keegan will continue his soccer career at Rutgers University.

 

Michael Kendrick ’19 is a four-year varsity tennis player and a major asset to the CBA Tennis Program. In his junior year, he finished 3rd in Section 2 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NYSPHSAA State Championships in Flushing Meadows. Michael is a year-round tennis player who most recently competed in the Junior Team National Championships. He will continue his tennis career at Springfield College.

 

 

Connor Toomey ’19 has been rowing since August 2014. Highlights of his career include the 2017 NYS Championship in a 4-man boat, 2nd place in an 8-man boat in the 2017 Youth Regionals, 13th place in a 4-man boat for the 2017 Youth Nationals, 1st place in a 4-man boat and 1st place in a 2-man boat during the 2018 NYS Championships, and 2nd in nation in a 2-man boat during the 2018 Youth Nationals. Connor will row for Syracuse Univeristy next fall.

 

 

Alex Decker ’19 has been rowing for the CBA Rowing Club for three years. He has participated in the 2017 and 2018 Junior Doubles and the 2017 and 2018 NYS Championships. He placed 2nd at the Scholastic Nationals in 2017, placed 5th at the Northeast Regionals in 2017, and placed 3rd at the Stotesbury Cup in 2018. Alex will continue his rowing career at Mercyhurst College.
