Opening Days of School

The opening week of the school year starts on Wednesday, September 8th. Specific grade levels will come to school on assigned days.

Wednesday, September 8th: 

  • Student Orientation for grades 7, 8 ,9 and 12 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Freshman Drill for all grade 9 and all senior officers 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Thursday, September 9th:

  • Student Orientation for grades 5, 6, 10 and 11 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Sophomore Drill for all grade 10, new grade 11 students and all senior officers from 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Friday, September 10th:

  • 12:30 PM Dismissal for all grades
  • Flag Raising and 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony from 8:30 AM to 9:30 PM

Monday, September 13th will be our first full day of school for all grade levels. Call your individual school district to see when they will begin providing transportation for the upcoming school year. Click here to view the School Calendar for the 2021-2022 Academic Year.

 

Family Orientation 

Middle school orientation for all new middle school families will be on Wednesday, September 1st at 6:30 PM and the High School Orientation for all grade 9 and new high school families will be on Thursday, September 2nd at 6:30 PM. More information with a detailed agenda will be sent out in the coming weeks.

 

Textbooks from Capital Region BOCES

Students who receive textbooks through Capital Region BOCES need to register online at capitalregionboces.org/textbooks to receive textbooks for the 2021-2022 school year.

 

South Colonie Student Textbooks from Capital Region BOCES

South Colonie is no longer providing textbooks and is using Capital Region BOCES for their textbook loan program. This is a change from previous years. You will need your son’s CBA student ID number which is used as the unique ID number for BOCES and you need to register online at www.capitalregionboces.org/textbooks to receive textbooks for the 2021-2022 school year. JROTC Uniform Issue and Exchange

Student Parking

Student drivers can begin to register their vehicles for the 2021-2022 school year.  Click here to access Vehicle Registration Form and Parking Contract and return it with payment to the CBA Main Office.  Make all checks payable to CBA and put “Student Parking” in the memo line.

 

School Supplies and Summer Reading

Click here to access the school supplies list for the 2021-2022 school year. Any additional subject specific supplies will be communicated to those students when they receive their course syllabus at the beginning of the school year. The Summer 2021 Summer Reading List is published to the school website. Click here to view it. Senior Portraits

Senior portraits will take place on September 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th & 20th. Senior parents should have received an email from Prestige Portraits asking you to sign up your son for a date and time. If you have not received an email please contact David Morse at Lifetouch at Dmorse@lifetouch.com. All pictures are done on campus in the Dress Blues uniform with their Officer’s Gear (if necessary). All students need to be in compliance with proper grooming standards for their portrait or it will not be taken.

 

 Common Application Workshops

The Guidance Department, in conjunction with the Academy of Holy Names, will hold three Common Application Workshops for students entering grade 12.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. Doemel at doemeld@cbaalbany.org.
