The Guidance Department will be hosting a Financial Planning for College Workshop on Tuesday, October 8 at 7PM.

On Thursday, October 17 we will host the 2nd Annual Real Brothers Wear Pink day in honor of breast cancer awareness. Dr. De Jesus, the mother of Jarvin De Jesus ’23, will speak to the CBA community about breast cancer and the benefits of early screening. Breast cancer survivor Maggie Hotaling, mother of Ryan Hotaling ’21, will be our keynote speaker.

The Guidance Department will host a College Financial Aid Workshop on Wednesday, October 23 at 7PM.

The Real Brothers Wear Pink campaign kicked off earlier this month to raise awareness and support for breast cancer research. In an effort to further support the campaign, the modified soccer team will have a special match to honor loved ones afflicted with cancer. The match will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 4:15 PM on the CBA Modified Soccer Field vs. BHBL. Wear pink in support. Go Brothers! To date, the team has raised $300 in donations towards the Real Brothers Wear Pink campaign.

CBA football is going pink on Friday, October 25 against Guilderland! In partnership with Pretty Rugged of Latham, show your support by wearing pink to the varsity football game at CBA on Friday, October 25 at 7 PM. October is breast cancer awareness month. Pretty Rugged is donating one of their luxurious waterproof faux fur blankets valued at $250 to be raffled off at the game. Raffle tickets will be on sale at the game for $10. The winner will be announced at half time. Need not be present to win. All raffle sales will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The Student Council will host the 1st Annual Mac-n-Cheese Cook-off on Wednesday, October 30 from 6-8PM in the Cafeteria.

We invite prospective parents and students entering grades 5 through 12 to our Fall Open House on Thursday, November 7 from 6PM-8PM. CBA Student Ambassadors will give guided tours through our school. Learn about CBA’s many remarkable programs in academics, athletics, leadership, and service. Meet the faculty, administrators, and students that make this such a special place. Discover for yourself that sense of brotherhood that has been a part of the CBA experience since 1859. On Monday, November 11, the JROTC Brigade and middle school students will march in the Albany Veterans Day Parade to honor the veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Parade orders from the JROTC Department will be available soon.

CBA will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, November 14 from 7:30am to 1:30pm. For information on how to make an appointment, fill out a health history form, and prepare for donating, please visit the Red Cross website.

On Friday, November 22, the Middle School will conduct Parent-Teacher Conferences from 8AM to 3PM. Each session is based on the student's last name. Please show up at any time during your child's session and touch base with as many of your son's teachers, as you feel necessary. Below are the times of our 3 conference sessions arranged in alphabetical groups for 5th through 8th grade. Please attend the session corresponding to your son's last name. Session Last Name Time I A-G 8:00-10:30 II H-O 10:30-12:30 III P-Z 1:00-3:15 These conferences should only last 5 minutes per teacher. If you feel you need additional time, please set up a follow up meeting at a later date. If a teacher is already occupied with a conference, please wait patiently outside the teacher's door until their room is freed up.

The Guidance Department will host a PSAT Information Night on Wednesday, December 18 at 7PM.

The Theatre Department will host their annual Cabaret Night on Thursday, December 19 at 7PM. Students choose many of the songs and look forward to performing them for you.
