MKTG 120 – Principles of Marketing

Grades 11-12     Credit: .5 This course will provide an introduction to marketing. Students will learn about consumer behavior and gain an understanding of targeting and positioning. Additionally, the elements of the marketing mix including new product development, promotion, pricing, and distribution will be covered. The course will culminate with the submission of a semester-long research project. As this is a college-level course, students should expect to submit high level work in an academically demanding environment. This course is part of the College in the High School program. MKTG 200 – Advertising

Grades 11-12     Credit: .5 This course provides a basic understanding of advertising and the advertising industry and will expand upon concepts studied in Principles of Marketing. Advertising in radio, television, magazines, and newspapers will be studied. An integrated marketing communications approach also will be presented, and various communication/promotional efforts will be examined. The course will culminate with the submission a semester-long research project. Accounting I

Grades 11-12     Credit: 1 The objective of this course is to provide a solid foundation in basic accounting concepts and techniques for students who plan to pursue a career in accounting, as well as students expressing a general interest in accounting. The course covers the traditional topics including the accounting cycle, financial statement analysis, and coverage of asset, liabilities and stockholder’s equity. Topics are strengthened through the students participating in projects involving researching financial information of a given company and presenting their findings to the class.
