Christian Brothers Academy Announces New President

The Christian Brothers Academy Board of Trustees is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. James Schlegel as the first President of the School. Reflecting our rich tradition of academic excellence and vision for the future, the CBA Board of Trustees has adopted the administration model of a President-Principal model. The success CBA has experienced over the past decade has provided an opportunity to strengthen our Lasallian Catholic educational mission with this exciting strategic leadership model. In this administrative model, executive functions are shared between two distinct leadership profiles: the outward-facing institution-builder (President), and the inward-facing leader of teaching and learning (Principal).

CBA Values Last a Lifetime

Christian Brothers Academy, a college preparatory middle and high school for boys in Albany, New York, challenges students to excel in academics, in athletics and in life. They’re doing something right because 100% of its students are accepted to college, and it’s been that way since 1980. It’s doing something right in athletics because CBA holds numerous titles in basketball, football, track and field, and soccer. CBA’s award-winning band and high-ranking Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) also indicate it holds a recipe for success.

What does it really mean to attend an all-boys private middle and high school? At Christian Brothers Academy, it means your son will receive an exceptional Catholic education in tandem with the life lessons to graduate as a well-rounded young man eager to contribute to his society. This tutelage begins the instant a child is accepted to CBA, an invitation accompanied by a firm handshake and a welcome to the Brotherhood, a fraternity in which supporting each other and serving others is of utmost importance.
